Wont work with the blue pump. The alchy will tear it up inside real quickly. The black pump will work though, it is like a blue pump, but is more tolerable of the alcohol. I know a couple of guys who have tried the blue pump and had problems almost right away. A black pump would be more than adequete for what you are doing though. As for electric's supposedly not working with alchy with a rear mounted cell, I have not had any problems with mine. I think that's one of those rumors started by chebby morons who can't get their high dollar junk to run what they think it should. I use a Holley 350 pump with mine, -10 AN line from the cell to the regulator, and since my car has gone 6.18 at a race weight of 2850 lbs, and on a seperate occassion it ran 9.97 in the qrtr with a wounded motor. Sounds like it works pretty well to me since my motor is only 357 inches, and has factory iron heads.

Incorrect sir. It has nothing to do with pressure. Alcohol requires more volume than gas, about twice as much. So long as the volume is there, it doesn't care if it is 8 psi, or 12 psi. And besides, carb needle and seats wont tolerate more than 8 1/2 psi, and that's the good alcohol needle and seats. A normal gas needle and seat wont stand anything over 8 psi.

I talked about NOS usage. Also they modify carb needle and seats for supercharger applications.

Anyways, even with nitrous, it still doesn't require anymore pressure. AND, if you plan on enriching with nitrous, you need more than what a black pump can flow also. It is easier to enrichen for nitrous with gas, even if the rest of the fuel system is for alcohol. 55 psi is something a fuel injected motor would require, not a carb equiped motor.

Hey Rob, you dont know the part # for a rebuild kit for the Holley black pump, do you? I got one on the Falcon and the guy ran Alky in it and it looked like Vaseline inside. All white, powdery, and the screen you could hardly see through. Thanks, Steve.

Steve, You can get that white stuff out with Brake Kleen. I get a little of that in my filter and it cleans it right up.

Depending on your fuel usage and what you maybe going to later, you might want to consider buying a belt drive fuel pump even for a carb set up. The price is not that much different. Some are much higher, but then again a REALLY good electric pump can cost some major bucks too. You can run a fuel log with a bypass in it and then later if you want to upgrade to two carbs or injection, you'll be half way there. I did this a few years back when I switched to Methanol and I am glad I went that route. ------------------ JS Run what you brung and hope you brung enough! 69 Mustang Pro ET Drag

No, not right now. Everything is set up for gas, so we will stay that route. I would not mind later on down the road though. Will we be ok with the black pump with gas. I guess what my question is, the pump will be okay switching from alcohol to gas right? Hows your dad? Have heard much of him on here. Thanks, Steve.

Hey DV: I feel like a dumb a** not realizing you posted this. Anyway, the white stuff Im not really worried about, but the rubber gasket under the plate is really deteriorated and ratty looking. Thanks and good to hear from you again, Steve.
