Ok, still after a 2 year quest to find long tube headers for my torino that will fit my engine trans combo(351W c6) i have come up empty handed. Nothing changed on the chassis of the 73 to the 74 but all the header companies cut off the torino at 73. I figured with some massaging i could get anything to fit, but don't really want to spend $300 on headers and beat them straight out of the box. Figured i could try with something less expensive such as Summits or Headmans but was wondering if I should just go with shorties offered by headman and not have to deal with bashing them to fit.Opinions? (other than buy a c4, low buck for now)

Get the headmen, or Flowtech LONG tube hedders. Get them to fit it shouldn't take to much if the 73-74 are the same. I could feel the low end difference when I went from short,to long tubes last spring. Alittle ding here or there won't hurt them. One more thing I had to change my exhaust when I went to the long tubes, from the shorties. Just another expense you can avoid.------------------ SCOOP 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. Shorties are glorfied exhaust manifolds Like Scoop said, go with full length long tubes for maximum gain ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

Theres a place around here, it has Flowtech long tubes for 89.95. They're called umm Barnett Performance. They're numbers 1-800 533 1320. But then again you're in Canada.. so I'm not sure, but anyway, I'm pretty pleased with my Flowtechs, they're by no means "Top Notch" headers. But for 89 bucks, I figure in a couple years if I need to replace them, big deal. I think a set of ceramics though are around 220 or so. Best of luck to you!

Yah, living in Canada sucks for getting good performance parts for not alot of $$Summits headers are about $80 and the hedman are $120 so it's not a huge huge loss if they won't work, or get really bashed up making them work, or cut and welded in new bends ect. It would be a shame to do so to a set of ceramic headers

Try a set of Dynomax ceramic coated headers, have them on my 67' mustang and they look and perform great. I think I paid $275 for the set at local speed shop.

I don't think I've ever heard a good thing about MAC'S. Which is a bit odd considering they're on the higher end of the price range when it comes to headers.

I just got an e-mail back from Mike Walsh, who made or helped make the 74-76 Torinos for the upcoming Starsky and Hutch Movie which have a 351W and c6 combo like mine.HOOKER PART NO. #6901 WINDSOR MOTOR which is only $149.95 from summit so if he gets back to me with what he had to do with them, these might work

Well if you want good headers go hooker. If you want something that will save you a little cash go with flowtech or headman. And there is something out there that will fit that 74 torino of yours. If they make em' to fit a Mustang then they'll definitely make em' to fit a torino. Paul
