I'm finally looking at putting my clevor back together. Right now I'm trying to figure out what crank to run. The old (broken) crank was 3.50" stroke, 2.1" dia, full chevy width rod journal, w/ 2.75" cleveland main journals with a windsor thrust width. (I ran Federal Mogul bearing spacers). I scored a good deal on an old NASCAR LA billet crank, but it's a slightly shorter stroke (3.44" versus 3.50"), has 2.1 crank pin with 1.80" width, and 2.75" mains with Cleveland thrust width. So here's a couple questions: Does anyone make the bearing spacers with the Cleveland (SVO) thrust width for the 351W block? I'm probably going to need the crank reworked some. Anybody know of a good place for crank work in the Eastern U.S.? ------------------ '68 mustang 351 clevor- 10.92@124 '67 Stang, 351W -11.18@118 '69 351C Torino-14.90@100 '78 Pickup 351W-15.56@88 '79 Pickup 460 ET=??

How does the Feder Mogul bearing spacers work? Is it a special bearing of that is just wider in the thrust dimension?

MP, the bearing spacers fit into the block and caps, then the bearings fit into the spacers. The center main spacer incorporates the thrust bearing into it (going from memory here!) The width is a standard 351W, which is around 1.14". The Cleveland/SVO thrust width is around 1.12". The block must be align bored after installing the spacers. The bearings are a little strange in that they have no tabs to locate them. They seem to work fine though. Buster, I modified an old NASCAR SVO intake to fit [This message has been edited by Rustang (edited 12-09-2003).]
