just an update.

last summer i was having trouble with my Holley carb as some of you know . you guys gave me some other jetsettingtips on which i plan to follow up.

2 weeks ago i found the guts the open-up the holley. what i saw was stunning.. aluminium particles from shaving, drilling (there were drilling curls in the fuel bowls!!)and machining. it was everywhere inside the carb.... i was pretty P@#&@^#@SSED-OFF by this, so i send an e-mail to Holley if this is normal on there products..

so far nothing from Holley...they call that customer satisfaction???? just remaining quiet?? to bad i live in the Netherlands

just spilling my .02

Did you add any braided fuel lines at the same when you put the new carb on. My brother inlaw did this. He cut the braided lines with a saw and it put shaving in the fuel bowls. If you didn't add anything at the same that you unstalled the carb. Then I'd call them and not wait for an email.

Hmmm, a call from the Nehterlands could cost more than the carb if he gets put on hold...

Where was the carb purchased? Doesn't sound like something from Holley. Sounds like somebody bought a new carb, swapped their junked up (home brewed modified) carb with the new one and returned it to the supplier claiming that the carb didn't suit their needs. They unloaded their crap on the supplier, got a new carb in the turn-around, and the supplier unknowingly (or not unknowingly) passed the crap along to you.

Just a possible scenario...

I just got off the phone with Holley and they will be contacting you via email very shortly. Keep us posted because the tech I just spoke with was very interested in your problem and said that he would contact you.

Good Luck
