Rebuilder quality stuff Steve, ala Detroit Gasket or engine kit Fel-Pro plain package.
We've used some sample that they gave us and it reminds me of the bulk sh*t the mickey mouse parts store sold in the 70's.

Only one head gasket to use on a normally aspirated SBF in my oppinion and experiance.
Victor Reintz 3428SG. None finer or stronger.
I have tried them ALL!
That's what we use in ALL of MMR's na engines.

The reason i wanted the Steel shim gaskets is to bump the low 8.0:1 compression. And figured by milling the heads and using the steel shim to get closer to 9:1

www.cometic.com has steel shim gaskets for FoMoCO's.
Half the thickness and twice the price as Victor Reintz.

Kind of off subject, but the guy that helps me with my heads and some engine work buys a lot of parts from Ferrea. In Ferrea's catalog they list a line of performance gaskets, my friend orders quite a lot of them for the local chevy dirt trackers, most come with the Ferrea name on them, this spring we ordered a set of head gaskets for my 351C. When we got them, the brand name was Filgar made in Argentina, they looked just like the Felpro race gaskets and were less money. I ran them this season in my aproximate 12to1 Cleveland and never had any problems. Wondering if anyone else had any experince with these or even had heard of them before?
