First, thanks for everybodys responses concerning my first header question. Now for my next question. Im not sure if I need 1 3/4 tubes in my app. 351W, 10.25, Victor Jr, 750 VS, TFS TW heads no port work 235/245 .550 .567 Hyd cam, 3000 stall, probably 3.89 or 4.11 gear, 3500 lb ????. Im thinkin that maybe with this heavy of car I might be better off with the smaller tubes. Better Low end, mid range torque??? This is my first Ford. In the bow tie world with this mild of engine in a Chebelle or similar Im sure I would use the smaller tubes. What do you think?[This message has been edited by Von (edited 12-04-2003).]

Is the car a street/strip deal, or competition only? You can get good 1 5/8" headers out-of-the-box for well under $200 (Heddman). For big tubes, expect to pay several times that but that's what you pay for tenths or hundreths of a second!------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

This is a street/strip car. I know all to well about the "alot for a little". Actually decent quality 1 5/8 headers are closer to $125. I dont think it matters if it is a street/strip car or if a race only. Ive been hearing the ole" Well if its a street car you need a small cam, dual plane intake, 2500 stall max, 3.50 gear max," etc. since I was 15 and I still dont buy into it one bit.My thinking is with this much weight, the 13/4 tubes might do more harm than good.
