There are 3 ways to do this.
You can use standard 7/16 bolts with reducer bushings like these: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=TFS%2D51400419

You can buy new ARP stepped bolts like these: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=ARP%2D254%2D3708

Or you can drill and tap the existing block holes for the standard 1/2" Windsor bolts.

i think the best one is:
"drill and tap the existing block holes for the standard 1/2" Windsor bolts."as bluestreek says.

I can only pass on what I have been told as I heve never done this. For what it is worth I was told that drilling a 302 block to 1/2" bolt holes and tapping it will weaken the block.

I don't remember who told me this, I think I have heard it more than once. But I do remember that I respected the opinion of the person(s) who told me.

When I installed the 69 351W heads on my street Fairmonts 302, I simply bought a set of Mr. Gasket head bolt washers for a SB Chevy. Thats over 6 years ago, with no problems. Plus, since the Chev uses 18 head bolts per side, you have almost enough washers left over to do a second engine!

the first time I did the head swap I went to the machine shop and got some hardend washers to use with the stock 289 bolts and ran it for around 8 or 9 years with no prob's. Then I learned that "marine" 302's had 351w heads on them from the factory using bolts with integeral washers. Swapped a set of those in with the next rebuild and have been running that setup with no probs for 6 more years.I've run 351w heads on my 289 for about 15 years with no problems using stock 7/16 bolts. my compression is around 11-1 with trw pop-ups. I would think the dowels locate the head good enough that if properly torqued (and your not going blower/nitrous) that stock bolts would be fine for the street
