i was thinking about trying it on my race car to try to get rid of that damn stumble i got. i have tried 5 different carbs and i dont think they were all bad. thinking the high rpm victor jr i got now may be the prob. i only got 240 degrees dur at .050.

years ago I ran an Offy 360 on my windsor. Swapped it for a Torker II (which is a terrible manifold too!) and picked up 2 tenths and 3 mph.

yup, tried that too alex. i have tried everything that you and several other people have suggested. the only carb that will work on it is my 500cfm 2bbl and it works great. does that tell you anything about air volocity or speed or any of those other fancy technical words?? the engine has been completely disasembled with a new block installed. so that kinda rules out vaccum leaks etc. (i think)

Then the only explanation is improper cam timing or valve adjustment. It's degreed wrong or there are some tight rockers.

If it works good with one carb it should work good with another if you can figure out what the 500 2brl is doing that the others are not. I have a spare RPM intake that I would trade the VJ if you want.

Are you using jet extensions? On launch, the secondary jets (toward the front of the bowl) can get uncovered and suck air. The 500 has no secondaries, so you don't have anything to worry about.

I'd try a set of the screw-in types and see what happens.

Holley part #116-10 contains two screw-in jet extensions and a notched float. Give it a try and see what happens. The kit is only around $17. I don't really trust the 'push-on' type extensions very much.

Good Luck!

Mike, my understanding is that the stumble occurs at any time, even at a static rest.

If memory serves me isn't this a girlyman juice cam?
If so, just as a test, put about .002 to .003 lash hot in all of the rocker arms.
One at a time of course with the engine off.
