Has anyone corrected body roll off the line with either a "Anti-Roll" bar or an air bag in the right rear coil spring ?

"GOOD" adjustable Shocks and or an air bag can help. What kind of car are we talking about? What suspension? Alex, I have a 80 Mustang Notchback, 12 point cage, subframe connectors, 351W/385/HP Ford Motorsport crate motor, C4 Auto, w/Trans brake, 4000 Stall convertor. The rear end is a Ford 9 inch, w/ solid bushed adjustable upper's and poly lower arms. The Front shocks are 90/10 and the rears are 50/50's. I run a 9.0 x 28 x 15 M/T on the rears. Car weight with driver is 2950 pds. My 60 ft is 1.52 - 1.54. ET = 11.60's. Thanks for your help.

We tried an Alston anti roll bar on the Strain's Fox Mustang and found it to limit and bind the natural travel. We adjusted it every which way and found the car would leave better without it. We used to just re-enforce OE control arms and replace the bushings. Add Lakewood hopper bars, a set of Air-Lift bags, HAL shocks, tie the sub frames, and you were good to go. Over the past season we discovered some nice light weight adjustable control arms from TRZ and liked them so much that we became a distributor. Our Capri will 60 foot 1.60 at 3500 lbs in legal IHRA/NHRA P/SA trim. We intend on dropping a class 200 lbs less) or two (400 lbs less) next year and fully expect the 60 foot to pick up to mid to low 60 foot times. Here is a good shot show how square the car leaves the line WITHOUT an anti roll or sway bar. By the way, we have yet to replace the rear springs on ANY Fox car that we set up. Our 3700 lb convert has a similar set up (no TRZ arms yet) and it will 60 foot 1.69 with a near stock motor. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 First SS/MA in the TENS! Yes, what Alex said. After we tried the anti roll bar, they had us install 86 Capri rear springs and Lakewood traction bars. With the anti roll bar in place we could onlr run 7.40 -7.50 1/8th mile times and after we removed it the car ran 7.20 - 7.30 consistently. Then we made a gear change from 4.10 to 4.56 ( 8.8 rearend) and the car pulled the fronts about 8 to 10 inches off the ground and carry them to the tree. Your car is set up similar to ours and we could onlt leave at 3000 rpm on the brake and we would 60 ft. in the low 1.40's. We also used 28x9x15 tires too. Hope this helps, Steve.[This message has been edited by Strain Gang (edited 11-20-2003).]

Thanks to you both.:B This was the first season for our Mustang at the track for test and tune sessions. The car has always left the line straight and was easy to drive. I felt that the body roll was wasted energy and that if I can get a handle on this it could be put to use improving the bottom line......lower ET. I appericate your help...... Thank you
