Why not build a 393c with the SCAT crank, 351W rods and probe pistons?
Everything is off the shelf.
A 377c requires an offset ground 3.70" stroke 351c crank and custom pistons. If you get the crank ground to 2.100 SB chevy dimensions, you have a choice of tons of aftermarket rods.
I would at least go with a 6.00" length rod.

I believe my 377 has smallblock Chebbie rod journals, 3.7 stroke and 6.120" rods.

I don't know what the compression height is on the pistons.

You're close. They are sbc rods, 2.10 journal, and are 6.125" long Oliver billet rods.

The rods I am planning on using in my 3.7 stroke motor are 6.120" long, but they are aluminum so they are made a touch shorter. They are also sbc 2.10 journal. The pistons I am going to use have a 1.21 compression height.

OK, I knew the aluminum rods were 6.120. Guess I just never looked at the specs on the Olivers.

i would love to go for a bigger stroker but im trying to build this on a budget. i wanted to offset grind my stock crank and go from there. so 6" rods would be the least. what about pistons? who makes good pistons for these types of strokers?

thanks again

I don't know if anyone makes a "catalog" piston that will work with a 3.7 stroke and 6" rods. I have never looked for pistons for that combo. If no one does make any, then your only option will be custom pistons, and you are looking at around $800-900 for a set of them. If you get custom pistons, most all the good manufacturers can make them for you, C&A, Wiseco, Ross, etc. I would stay away from Probe at all costs.

I am not trying to bash you plans, but you are not saving any money buy having an offset ground clev crank vs. a Scat 3.85 stroke crank. Castillo's crankshaft (in CA) will cut you a crank for $300, get it balanced, $150, cheap 6.125 aftermarket rods are at least $300, and figure a minimum 600 for custom pistons. So you have a grand total of $1350 plus rings and bearings.
If you go the SCAT route....Scat Crank for $330 (cncmotorsports.com), balancing same $150, prep some 351W rods maybe $200 total, Probe 393C pistons around $500 for a total of around $1180.
BTW I have an offset ground 372C (apart at the moment).
If you insist on the offset ground route, some people have used 3.9 mopar (DAkota) V6 rods which are 6.125" long and pretty close to Ford width. You offset grind the crank to a 3.68" stroke and a 2.125" (340 mopar) diameter.

Thanks for the info, i really didnt look into the expenses when looking into the 377. I think i will reconsider my options. or hopefully i find a good deal out there.

I talked to a machine shop today, and ive decided to steer clear of the stroker for now. its not within my budget for this engine. thank you all.
