I got new slicks for Melissa's '66 but no time to mount and balance them b4 tomorrow night. The old slicks have 80% of the wear holes gone. We're gonna run it anyway, so I'll be looking for cord showing all night. How far into slicks have you guys pushed it? SteveW p.s. I'm kinda hoping she doesn't go 7 rounds.

Billy,Yeah I agree! These things only have about 1/4" of rubber when they are new. I may have to let her run my Mopar. If she'll settle for a slow ride in an ugly car. LOL SteveW

Hey Steve,,Sorry I didn't make it to help with the MOPAR.. I was called back early from Oregon to do some work for my old company,, and work means $$$.. I have been seeing some really nice looking Scallops,, that would look awesome on the Dart.. They are only about 4"-6" wide and you can use any flame type color scheme.. That would help the MOPAR look like it's going faster.. Maybe I could come down for THANKSGIVING.. You roast the Turkey and I'll bring the SCALLOPS.. and I don't mean potatoes Don [This message has been edited by Big D (edited 10-22-2003).]

I thought the idea was to run them until the wear holes were gone and then replace?

I run mine until the first hole is gone, then they are finished. The rubber also gets alot harder as they wear down and 60's become less consistant. Its not worth risking it at 100MPH+ and blowing a tire for you or the guy running beside you. Open your wallet and consider it a safety issue.
