I had my '69 Mach 1 dynoed last month and it came in at 370 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. I'm running a 393W stroker and my car weighs 3570lbs with me in it. At the track today I ran a best of [email protected]. If you run any of those h.p. anylizers they say I should have 425+hp at the rear wheels. I run Hoosier DOT slicks and my best 60' time is 1.61 sec. I dynoed my '03 Z06 at the same dyno 1 week before and it came in at 354hp which is right where it should be so it doesn't seem like the dyno is off. Are those hp anilyzers that inaccurate? Pete

Great numbers but even better times and MPH. Who cares what the HP number is as long as the ET's are low and MPH high. BTW what times and mph does your Z06 run ? ------------------ SCOOP 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. Most of the analizers on the net are b.s. and seem to be claibrated for street vehicles. Here's a good one for hard launching cars like yours.http://users.erols.com/srweiss/calchpe.htm It says you're making 459.1 flywheel horsepower. SteveW

The calculator I use says 459hp for 11.54ET also.It came up with 424hp for the 115mph trap though. http://www.speedworldmotorplex.com/calc.htm

I am guessing you have an automatic transmission. Dyno operators neglect to mention that a torque converter will throw off the numbers on a chassis dyno making horsepower low and torque high. The higher the stall the more the numbers will be off.The best you can hope to gain with a chassis dyno and an automatic is a tuning tool. Case in point, my friends Cuda runs 11.11 @ 119 yet showed 390 horse and 505 torque on a chassis dyno. He is running a 4000 rpm stall. He is installing a 4 speed in the next week or two and we will go back to the dyno and show the difference this makes. It will probably show near 450 horse and 450 to 460 torque.
