This one is fairly easy,
you have to disconnect the starter wire from the ignition switch so that when you turn it past the on position it doesnt connect and send the signal to the starter solenoid.

Check a wiring diagram to find out what wire you have to bypass to do this

Then hook up a push-to-make switch to do that job manually. The advantage to this is that you can push the button BEFORE switching the ignition on if you want to turn the engine over and "prime it" with oil pressure before it fires up. doesnt always work well but some people like to do that.

Dubz, I hid a switch just like you mentioned in my Chevy under the dash as an anti-theft device.

run the wires from the new switch to the selonoid switch. one will hook to the wire coming from the battery. the other one will hook to one of the little terminals. usually the furtherst one from the big battery wire. you can use a jumper wire to short between the batt terminal and the little ones till you find the right one. when you find the right one, the engine will turn. you can leave everything else hooked up and that way you can start the car with the key or the button if you like. just remember that the neutral safty switch does nt work on the button. good luck.
