We did the Summit Team Finals thing at Norwalk this past weekend. I bulbed (.499) in the second round of the gamblers and lost in the third round of the main race. The car was running in the high 10.20s to mid 30s and ran 135.40 mph. We backed it up with a 135.27 and a 134.95. The added mph has to be due to the Dominator. It took a while to get the squirters sorted out, but since then it's been amazing. I posted everywhere to get input on running a Dominator on a dual plane (Stealth) and basically got zero feedback. Well, we're living proof that it can be done.

GREAT JOB, BBCapri!
Sounds like you've got the combo sorted out now!

So why did you choose to run a Stealth and not a Victor,,,,(a) to prove you can, (b) because that's what you had, (c) because it's shorter & will fit under your hood, or (d) ??????

Are you now done for the season?

We built the motor with the Stealth because it fit into our rpm range. The original motor had a completely stock part short block and a Victor made horsepower into a range that we could never use. Even now we run a stock crank but with Eagle rods and flat top Wiseco pistons. On a real good pass the thing only turns about 6700. We leave off a footbrake at 2000 with a 3600 convertor.
When the 800 died this spring we decided on the Dominator. We ran a 1" open spacer under the 800 but the 1050 needs the 2" adapter to fit to the square bore intake. With the 2" open spacer and the long runners of a dual plane it made it real hard to get the car to leave the line without a major bog. We still will get a bog unless we have a significant amount of heat in the motor before a pass when the air is really cool.
We are now officially done for the season. It's been a long and frustrating time, but we finished with a flourish and are pretty happy with the outcome.

There's a guy on the Big block 385 forum that tig welded a dominator flange to a CJ Stealth with great results.

Might want to go over there and check it out.

With a 3600 RPM converter, though, I believe a Victor would be a better intake with a dominator. This seems to be the opinion of the majority at the 385 forum also.

Good luck!

That makes sense.......

I'm happy for your great season finale, Paul!

Do you plan to tear it down this winter and make any changes or maybe just do a simple inspection and stay with what you have?

What about the Blue Thunder dual plane intake with a dominator flange? They are approx 3/4" shorter than the Stealth but work just as good. They come in either the std port or CJ port sizes.
