As you all know, I blew up my motor 2 weeks ago. Since I was borderline of making the bracket finals team, KK's father was wonderful enough to offer me the use of his spare motor. Well, I took him up on it. The motor is nothing special at all. It's a .030 over windsor, with stock rods, KB hyper flat tops for around 10.5-1 compression, a solid Comp cam, a victor jr intake, and a set of iron World Products heads. Of course I bolted my alchy carb on it. I had to buy headers for it so I bought a set of Hooker super comps. They sure weren't cheap. I really figured the motor was going to run mid 6.80's with 60' times around 1.45 in my car. Boy did it suprise me (I also think it suprised KK's father.) First pass, it launched with the wheels up on the wheelie bars, and had a 1.38 60' time . That was a touch quicker than my motor was running the week before. It also managed a 6.67 @ 102 mph, and I over wound low gear (the lite sure comes on quick when set at 6000 rpm as opposed to 7000 like I run mine.) Next pass it ran another 6.67. But on the way back to the trailer, my wonderful trans decided to act badly again. So I loaded it up without ever getting to run elims with it. But, that just shows you what a good convertor can do for how a car runs. Although my convertor is a little loose for this motor, it still ran harder than it should have for what it is. There is no other explanation for a mid 6.60's car running high 1.30 60' times.

I don't know. I was 2 stepping it to 4200, just like I was with the other motor. But the shift lite which was set at 6000, was coming on before it set the front wheels down.
