We will take delivery of a 63 Falcon Sprint, tube chassis, 4 link car next weekend and hopefully be able to swap the engine and trans. from the Stang into the Falcon to shake it down before the end of the month. As soon as I get pictures developed, I will have Steve post them. It is very similar to Dad Vishus' Falcon, only it is red and has Centerline Auto Drag wheels on it. The wheels will have to upgraded to Bogarts in the near future though. Steve.

Hey DV: the cool thing is that the Pro et finals last night consisted of our stang and two Falcons, a 65 owned by Jim Winters and a 64 Sprint. The Sprint is an inbreeder however, with a 468 BBC between the rails. PS: thanks for the congrats. How did the ET finals go, if you know. Steve.[This message has been edited by Strain Gang (edited 10-05-2003).]

I went up for Saturday only this year. I talked to Mark Bacon a little and was surprized when he said he'd not ever run the 66 on the quarter. All I really got to see was a couple rounds of the gamblers race. The Eddyville guys seemed to be doing OK in that. A couple of cars broke but most were running pretty good numbers as the air was good. Hope to see good results from the team race.[ ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'

Nice car. Is that your motor in it already? The bottom is sure alot cleaner than mine. I like all the polished stuff in the interior. Gives it a classy look. I'd like to find some Sprint emblems for mine. Maybe while you aren't lookin....... ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I hope it is half the car (winning wise) that the Mustang was. It was a real tough decision for my dad, brother and I to make, after winning three track championships with it, but the car should do just fine. Dad Vishus: We need to hook up sometime and take pictures of our cars together. That would be way ! No that is not our motor in there yet. It is the other guys 289 on alcohol. It ran 7.40's in the 1/8th. I am hoping with our windsor, we can run 6.60 tn 6.80's in the 1/8th and run IHRA hot rod. The Falcon weighs 2450lbs. as opposed to the Stangs 3000lbs.We are going to try to drop our combo in and shake it down the last 2 races. I dont know if our headers will fit, if I gotta make a new front motor plate or a couple of other little things. Oh, and another thing, your number on your Falcon is 5651 and ours is 5615. How ironic is that? PS: I might need to post to ask you a few questions, is that OK? Take Care, Steve.

Ask away. I'll answer what I can. That was Steve's number. My new one is 5001. Its an IHRA Hot Rod number. Depending on how the chassis is built, I would think Mustang headers might work. You'll probably want to get a set for the chassis eventually. They make maintenance a whole lot easier. Get the heat away from the starter and transmission also. 2450 may turn out to be a little light for Hot Rod. I'm not exactly sure what the minimum is. I think its like 2800 for Super Street in NHRA. My Falcon isn't real light so I don't have to worry about the minimum. It weighs around 2900 with driver. I notice the stock dash in yours, too. They are heavy, but look cool. Are the widows lexan, or glass? Mine are glass so that adds weight. My only fiberglass piece is the hood. I like the red on that car, too. I was thinking of other colors and quite frankly, I wonder if many colors will look godd on the bodystyle. Anyway, good luck on getting ready and whats left of the year. ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'

Yeh, the min. weight for IHRA is 2600 lbs. I am sure the Windsor weighs a little more than the 289 does and my brother weighs a little more than the orig. owner, we should be OK. The body is all steel and the only windows that are lexan are the side windows. I would like to put a set of Bogarts on it eventually too. I have never been a big fan of the Centerline Auto Drags myself. I'll just have to see what Alex and Tony can get me a set for. Thanks, Steve.

For future reference, US Body makes hoods, trunk lids, front fenders AND doors for our little birds. I'd like to get a trunk lid just cause the darn thing is heavy and hard to handle when taken off. Its dzus fastened on the front edge and has the keylock to secure the back edge.I did leave one fiberglass piece out. Steve made a glass front bumper for the car when he built it. I have the mold also. The back bumper is a real clean chrome factory piece. I don't have a radio and I don't know if the glove box lid works or not. The dashbar is right in front of it. I'd have to cut down the back of a radio to put it in. The firewall is that close.
I went to Eddyville today. Got 2 time trials then the rain began. They are running tomorrow also but I have things to do so I came home. I'll put up a post about that later. Gino Scali was hanging around there today. I guess they are going to get a bike match race for next year. That might be cool. Sounds like the weight for Super street will be OK. You may find the need for some lead to get it to hook up with more motor, too.
