Bill,I think the 6 speed or even a 5 speed has too low a 1st gear w/4.56 gearing. Maybe a 5 speed with 4.10 rear would be ok, but even then the launch ratio is too low. You'll be shifting to second in less than a second. The 5 or 6 speed would be good with a 3.89/3.90 rear and then you'll only need the 6 speed if you want to try for the 180mph mark. SteveW

to much rear gear hurts worse than not enough. with the blower i dont think torque will be a problem. id go tkoII and 3:80's.------------------ 306, 4speed, 4.11's....best 1/8 mile 7.58 at 92mph with 1.72 60ft. PUMP GAS/NO ADDERS/STREET TIRES

I agree, too much total low gear ratio. A buddy of mine was running a 4.71 gear in his mustang, and using a Jerico 4 speed with a 3.08 first gear. It was too low, he was shifting into second before he got to the tree. He had to go to a 4.11 gear to kill some total low gear ratio. A 5 speed with your current rear gear ratio would be like trying to hi speed take off in a truck with a granny low 4 speed. I suppose you could get a 5 speed with a custom gear ratios in it to compensate for the low rear gear.

Bill, I'd give Dark Horse performance a call. They can build you up a custom geared 5 speed that will be able to handle the torque your putting down. The size of the 6 speed makes installation a pain, and will require you to cut/modify the tunnel inorder to fit it all under there.http://www.darkhorseperformance.com http://www.darkhorseperformance.com/acatalog/3550_TKO_Crossmembers_and_Parts.html

I disagree with you KV it depends on what motor you run, I run a 3.25 low gear in a Jerico with 6.00 gears. So it depends on how high your motor makes power. So it is all what you want to do with your car, Street or Track. By the way I hit second in the "Air"
