I need some ideas. I am trying to rig up a set of vent pipes for my car so I can run the car in my shop and tune it without passing out from alky fumes. I have 4 exhaust fans but Alky isn't like Gas. It burns your eyes. It's hard to create enough wind even with an attic exhaust fan to get rid of it. I found some aluminum flex pipe that fits over the collectors just right. Now I need some long straight pieces of 4 inch thin wall metal pipe or duct of some kind to get it on out of the shop. The flex cannot be run the entire way, it is too flimsey and it cost $10.00 bucks for 2 ft. Any ideas? and prices? I've checked every muffler shop within 100 miles, they say sorry no cigar. ------------------ JS 69 Mustang Pro ET Drag

I used the flex able stuff for the first three feet all aluminum. I can't find a stick ( non flex ) long enough for the rest of the way. good idea, i'll look some more. JS

Why not go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get some of the plastic black drainage pipe? Some of it comes in coils and is fairly flexible. After the first 3 feet of the alum flex, the exhaust temp ought to be cool enough to not melt it as long as you aren't planning on idling the motor for extended periods.

You can go to my work lowes and get some 4 inch dryer duck rigid type that fits together to make it as long as you want and use aluminum tape to seal it ...done deal.it will handle the heat just fine..Bruce

Lowes isnt open here yet. it is under construction. Huge place. Looks like a mall. I can't believe they're building a Lowe's for a 5000 population town. Of course it's right on the interstate that might have something to do with it. I'll give several of these ideas a whirl and see what shakes out. Thanks! ------------------ JS 69 Mustang Pro ET Drag
