I have a 10.25/1 351 windsor that calculates out to be about 8.5/1 dynamic with a hyd 270-280 advertised duration, i'm upgrading to a solid and want the DCR to remain the same if-not increase it. Will I need to approx same adv duration with same lobe centers and intake cent line?
Also how can I increase DCR?
thanks
mark

Mark,

Yes, and you can increase DCR with a shorter duration cam. But why would you want to, DCR is something you give up for a bigger cam that makes power higher in the rpm range where more h.p. is available. A big cam with a lower DCR is one way to run pump gas in a high compression engine for example.
