I ordered a center section from MAE Racing with 3.55s, a factory type locker, all assembled. The gears are made by Motive. I've heard that Motive makes good parts. Well, I just got an E-mail that says they ran out of Motive 3.55s and are waiting on the new shipment of US Strange 3.55s to come in for my section. Should I tell him to put in Motive gears, because that's what I should have gotten to begin with...or are the US Strange gears better? Which ones would be best?

I don't know which one is better, but I ran a US Strange gear for a couple of years in my racecar and it was a real good gear. It set up real nice (better then the previous set of Richmonds), and it had a good wear pattern to it also. As a matter of fact, I still have it and have contemplated setting it up for KK's car.

When I broke my c4 imput shaft at the WFC in St. Louis earlier this year, I first thought I broke the ring&pinion. I talked to the Strange rep who was at the race (name is "J.C. he is a friend of Alex's) He recomended the US gear over the motive and he sold both, don't remember what the price differences were, but I was first asking about Pro gears, he told me for my et, mph and car weight I didn't need them. If he was a salesman he could easily made more money, but he was honest recomended what he thought was best. So I would pick the US gear over the Motive

My understanding is a lot of NASCAR teams are using Motive gears these days.

Motive was recommended over Richmond, I already had the Richmond and put them in, they lasted about 3000 miles and started shaving metal off the teeth. Motive was cheaper too.
