I am currently running a Lokar throttle cable with the CSI cable bracket. I had a friend who was running the same setup and it go hung up on him at the end of the track and he crashed his car. I've become nervous about the throttle cable and would like get rid of it and switch to a rod with joints on the ends. Is there a kit out there that would get me started, the main part i'm worried about is the fabrication required to the pedal and getting a pivot point coming out of the firewall. Could I still use the stock gas pedal or do I need to get an aftermarket one?? Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated !!

You can use the stock pedal. I used all thread with 1/4" rod ends on each end. I ran a bolt through the pedal and then through the bell crank on the other end. the swivel in the Rod end lets it work.

How did you bolt it to the pedal?
My '69 pedal has the cable hole/slot parallel to the firewall.

if you can get the hole at a 90* angle to the firewall and if it has enough material ( metal ) around the hole to enlarge it to a 1/4 inch, you can use a 1/4" bolt and the rod in I was talking about. Should be able to get 1/4-20 rod ends at a farm supply or auto store. Lots of folks use 5/16ths and get by. Your choice.
