I bolted on my Aluminum Heads today using SCE non copper Head Gaskets. In a few days i have to unbolt my heads in order to check valve to piston clearence, I only bolted on my heads to figure out the correct valvetrain geometry. I want to know if the Head Gaskets will be ok since i already bolted the heads down and will be bolting the heads down again?

please let me know thanks.

TC,
If you torqued your heads down, some folks will tell you YES, you should replace them.

If you torqued your heads but never fired the engine, some folks will tell you, NO, you don't need to replace them.

If you call SCE, you may find out what they'd think you should do.

"When in doubt, change 'em out"....may be costly but the least stressful answer.

Ryan
