I just installed my One Piece Rubber Oil Pan Gasket and torqued the oil pan bolts down (Larger bolts 9 ft/lbs, smaller bolts 8 ft/lbs), but the gasket is not squishing in between the pan and the block. In fact i can put a .010 feeler gauge in between the gasket and the pan. What should i do? please let me know thanks (Everyone ive talked to has said that i dont need to use RVT, but im not exactly sure)

Sounds like the pan flange has some warp to it... I 'straighten' them out by setting the pan up-side-down on a flat surface, using a hammer and blunt, evening out the high and low spots. Is it a stock pan or ?If the motor is still on the stand, spin it up-side-down, remove the gasket, and use the above procedure to straighten it out, re-install gasket and check it. I'll only use silicone on the pan side of the end seals ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html
