The Edelbrocks on my car have around 10,000 miles on them so far with no problems at all. A good cooling system is a must with aluminum or iron heads.------------------ Stuart MCA #48902 M&M #1091 67 stang 5 speed, 351W, Edelbrock Performer RPM package my photo page

Aluminium heads have been used on iron block engines for many years with no problems. I have a set of FMS CJ's on my 460 and they have been used hard (drag, road use and circuit raced) for 9 years now and not one problem. As others have said, good cooling is desirable, but then it always is, isn't it? HTH Cheers, Martin.

As everybody else has said, good cooling is a major factor when using aluminum heads, but also be very aware to use the proper torque settings when installing your heads and be aware of any scratch`s along the head surface before you install. Aluminum is very susceptible to gouges and scratch`s JOHN

Don't be afraid of aluminum heads. If you do you'll be stuck in the '70s and listening to disco the rest of your life. SteveW

Fella's, come on, do you think Mercedes would make heads out of aluminum if they were a reliability risk? How many oem's make aluminum heads? Hmmmmm, ALL of them. Worry not.

I know of a few folks that would love to be able to say, "Yeah, the air and traction was pretty good last night - I ended up twisting my axles into pretsels!" Ryan
