Yeah right,

Opinions are like armpits, everyone has at least one.

He makes some good recomendations on how to make slappers work, but properly set-up CalTracks will be much more consistant than slappers. The '66 actually 60'ed better with slappers than it has with CalTrac's, the problem is that it has to be a perfectly prepared track and even then the next pass it was off .2 seconds on the 60'. Now with CalTracs it's always in the 1.4s w/o n2o and set up soft so it'll hook on any track prep.

I'll never go back to that old technology.

I think those 3 full length springs, in the front of the axle, are the main ingredient!

That's the old Mopar SS springs. With those you usually don't need slapper bars. Still not equal to CalTracs for shifting the "instant center" forward rhough.

By the way the intermediate leaves from a mid 70's F150 are the perfect length to fit up under the spring eye on a '67-68 mustang

They're the same width, and are thicker too.

They work real well on a '76 granada too.
