Is there such a thing as a shifter that doesn't use a cable for a reverse pattern/manual c6? I keep trashing cables on my b&m shifter.

Is it too close to the hedders? I have never had any problems with any of the cables I have used. No cable troubles even when I ran a C6.

Yes. I keep rerouting it, I've even put a heat shield and it keeps overheating and exploding. I have 429 in a 1967 and it just seems to get too hot. I put a new cable in yesterday and am hoping the new route works.

Are you using the heavy duty cable or the cheap cable? Big difference!

I've melted down both. It doesn't seem to make a difference.
