E.T. Streets are not really a street tire. They call them "cheater" slicks. But they somehow qualify for the street/trophy classes. The stickiest and longest lasting deep treaded tire would have to be a Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pro. They have a similar soft compound like a Drag tire but with normal tread depth. They have a soft 2 ply bias sidewall to help on the launch too! I would use a set in a heartbeat if the 9.5" tread would fit my current setup. ------------------ 1966 Mustang Coupe: Custom glass hood and BIG scoop sits atop a 289 stroked to 331 c.i., Steel crank and girdle, 5.4 H-beams, Forged slugs, TFS alum. heads, ported Stealth 8020 intake, Xtreme 274 Solid Roller, Holley 750 HP, long tubes, 4speed, 9" 3.50 posi. 11.86 @ 116 mph (7.62 @ 93 mph)full street trim! O I C now. Very interesting post. The reason I wanted to know was the fact that I don't have room for a trailered car and my back is not in the greatest of condition. So changing tires once I get to the track is out. When my son and I ran the '65 coupe, that is exactly what we did. Changed to slicks at the track, but he did the grunt work Thanks.
