i have been having a few problems with fuel of late, so I was wondering what type of fuel filters you guys are using(how many microns etc)

I don't know the part #, but I just have an old Holley inline canister-style filter. It's mounted just out of the tank, before the electric pump. It takes a WIX #33271 filter refill cartridge (paper). I removed the sintered iron filter at the Holley carb.
