I just read in the lastest "mustang and ford" magazine and it was talking about how boss 302 rods are stronger. Then they said that the boss 302 rods are made the the same forging process as the '62-'67 260s and 289s...does this mean that my '67 289 has forged rods?

Yes. Your rods are forged as are "nearly" all modern rods.

Although some Detroit V8`s used cast rods (Pontiac, Buick, & AMC)every Ford V8 that I am aware of, other than the 4.6 &5.4 modular engines, came stock with fordged connecting rods.

Slap a set of ARP's Pro Series Waveloc bolts in there, and they'll take an unreal amount of abuse.

That's all my engine had in it's 289 rods, and they took COUNTLESS 7000rpm blasts and 200hp nitrous hits.

Good Luck!
