howdy fellers this is about my 66 fairlane.
i'm about to buy the monte bar from

http://www.darkhorseperformance.com/
but i really like the expensive total control bar that triangulates
http://totalcontrolproducts.com/tower_large.html
do you think that the monte alone for cheaper will do enough bracing for crosstrack use and abuse?
one bar vs. five certainly would be stiffer, but i hear the 66 fairlane is real tough in comparison to the stang as far as unibody strength and doesnt need any braces, but the same car only convertable stock came with firewall to in front of shock tower braces, so im trying to do it right the first time and only get what i really need for as cheap as possible!

what do you all think?

keep in mind i have subframed her and redone the towers, neg wedge kit, bumpsteer kit, many spot welds for added strength, progressives kut 1, superstock arms upper and lower (BEEFED UP stock), soon to get bearing perches, bearing idler, fiber leafs, and 2 inch axle drop, maybe slider shackles , and panhard or similar setup and i gotta weld in my tmc bars and i think i will be done with her, oh yea if can ever afford em total control upper arms(mmmm) then on to the 69 fairlane fastback and 70 amc rebel!
i simultaneously dream of racing all three at laguna seca against myself, i think i won but i always forget my dreams!
thanks

In the absence of a response from a knowledgible person, I will give you one. I run at minimum the export brace, the "V" shaped, one piece steel brace that runs from the firewall to each shock tower. For competition,I would add the Monte Carlo bar. It was what Shelby added to the Mustang, and one piece is definately stronger than five. For just the street,I don't use the Monte Carlo bar. Just my two cents, Charlie
