How could what happen?

Only the chebbie runs? The other two are under construction. Or, that the big three can get along and work together?

They explain how it happens. Cylinder ran lean, causing detonation which broke through the gasket. Combustion gasses then escape through this small gap at high velocity and effecively torch the ally away. Fun, eh? It can be scary how hot the guts of your engine get.

Oh, go on! Just remember to post the pics of the blow-up here for us all to see! Nothing like a bit of mechanical carnage to get the interest going. He He

A 'swallowed' valve makes a bigger mess. Don't ask me how I know. After 31 years, it still hurts.

The beauty of aluminum. That head is an easy fix. That is the main reason I like to run aluminum heads on a race car.

That said, I am going to build my next motor with cast iron because of the rules.
