HEY GENE!!!!! How ya been?!? I have an old Dedenbear CO2 crossover box. It's pretty low tech. You can probably find a used single stage Dedenbear box for less than $100. I would sell you my old box, but I like having a "spare" in case something happens. (You know how I tend to tear stuff up) What were the 60' times? That give's me a better indication of how much delay to start with. On a blind guess, I would say somewhere around .900-.920, maybe less. When I bought my car and it had a 'glide, it was running 11 teens, and had around .940 in the box. Each driver is different too, so that plays a part. I would put .900 in it, make 2 "good" passes (good hits, not misses on the tree), see where the lights are and adjust from there. Don't tell me you put a powerglide in the '69? Good to "hear" from you. I didn't realize who "popeye" was.

Hey Gene!!Long time no see. How ya doing? I started out with 1.005 in my box and now have it at .995. That has been working fairly well for me at Eddyville. My car has a glide and is 60 footing at around 1.40. I have a Mega 400 box. I'm going to Cordova this week-end. I may have to adjust for rollout differences. I'll just have to try it and see what happens. We'll have to get together sometime and get caught up. Hey Popeye, nice meeting you and your son at Joliet last weekend! They did get the race going again after the rain sunday. I got past the first round but got killed the second round! Come to think about it, was probably more like suicide! LOL! Roger

Hi Bob,been doing good.I'am on vaction for two weeks & this is my second week...it gives me time to wrench on the '69 when I get the itch.I'll to check summitts'price on that low buck Dedenbear. As for the 60 ft time it ran a 1.767 and 1.761 at route 66 Sunday and two 1.76 s at Byron the day before and yes ,we put a glide in it last year because the c4 took a dump at Byron in June of 2003 and bought a rebuilt glide from Mark Weidemeyer in 2001 so ithougt it was time to give it a try. As for the popeye thing I thought it would be fun to fly under the radar for a while.

Hey Roger, great meeting you.Ya know it's a small world isn't it ? Both of us being down in Byron at an NMRA a couple years ago.I decided to get the car on the trailer(but not tie it down in case they called the bracket cars)when it started to look bad, didn't want to get caught in the rain again. We kicked it around and decided to bag it and we hit the road Better luck at Cordova in September for all off us.

JS,thanks for the tip. What we are looking for is an entry level delay box to improve our reaction time...just something simple and relatively cheap. popeye ------------------ This is FORD COUNTRY, where on a quiet night, you can hear a chevy rusting

I was kickin around the idea of a North Central M&M doo-dah at the FFW in Sept. at Cordova. There would be lots room for racers and campers at that event and it was most entertaining last year.I need more practice than you do. You've at least raced in the 30 years. I haven't run any quarter mile yet. That's the main reason for Cordova this week. I want very much to run at the World Series in 3 weeks. I need some seat time there before that. I'd rather not make a complete fool of myself in front of a bunch of spectators. My experiences at Tri State weren't all that positive. My car has to be tagged at an NHRA track anyway, most likely. 10 flat is the limit. With the car running 6.40s eighth in the heat that should be 9.90s if it holds up. Anyway, drop me an e-mail sometime.

Nah, 10 flat to 10.10. It might run in the 9's in the fall. But not in the summer. But, neither will mine.
