I have some slack in the drivetrain its not the U-joints even tho they looked good i replaced them. it does it cold when going thru drive to neutral to reverse it also does it after it get warm and i slow down then accelerate again. both conditions worsen as it gets driven more. there is also a minor delay when I run it thru reverse drivew etc. any ideas ?? c-6 trans 8 inch 3.80 posi rear.

How loose is your ring and pinion backlash?

i'm not sure of that . the shop tightened down on the "crush sleave" now its seems better but theres still a clunk and now its growling a little at very slow speeds like 5 mph.

Crawl under the car and grab onto the pinion and try to push/pull it in/out.... does it move at all? (You shouldn't need to remove the driveshaft to do this).
