Yup, I do..you only really need it if your getting vapor lock, especially on a hot day. A cool can does solve that problem cause it did mine.

Mike,
I use one for with that reasoning in mind. Yeah, the air temperature and humidity levels are still changing factors, but the temp of the fuel is one less factor to consider. Some insulation on the fuel line from the cool can to the carb is also helpful in keeping the fuel from heating back up.

Vapor-lock never happens and if you want to change jets/make adjustments between rounds, your carb is always nice and cool!

And yeah, you have to check the cool can from time to time and dip out some water and replenish the ice now and then, but because it's insulated, it lasts about an hour between checks.... but if it's leaking or you spilled ice and it's melting off the frame rail below - the linesman WILL send you back for fuild leaks! ...so make sure you aren't leaking or any spilled ice is removed from the car before pulling up to the burnbox!
