I am thinking of upgrading the valves in my '69 351W heads to 1.94/1.60 and as I have to keep the rail rockers (rules) I believe the valves I need are the Manley race-flo stainless (11888 and 11889) which they say are for use with rail rockers. It seems they have a necked down stem for improved flow which is a good thing. Does anybody have anything to say about these valves, either good or bad? Any comments or experiences would be appreciated before I rip into the engine. Cheers, Martin.

Martin,Looks like a good choice to me. Titanium would be better, but not worth the price/h.p. ratio. SteveW

I put some in a set of 289 heads once with bronze guides added for good measure. The heads held up for years in a bracket car. They are still running strong on a boat motor now!------------------ 1966 Mustang Coupe: Custom glass hood and BIG scoop sits atop a 289 stroked to 331 c.i., Steel crank and girdle, 5.4 H-beams, Forged slugs, TFS alum. heads, ported Stealth 8020 intake, Xtreme 274 Solid Roller, Holley 750 HP, long tubes, 4speed, 9" 3.50 posi. 11.86 @ 116 mph (7.62 @ 93 mph)full street trim! OK, thanks for the input guys. The heads were fresh last year and the guides were bronzewalled so I guess I just need to have the seats opened up and get porting again! Thanks, Martin.
