What cam would you recommend for my 5.0 bored .030 over, ported factory heads. performer 289 intake, 5-speed, 3.50 trac loc. 670 street avenger carb. I am looking at a Comp cams catalog they don`t have anything less than 500 lift and i was told by my uncle that anything that had much over 220 duration would be to much for my setup. your opinions please

I have nearly the same setup as you and I am running a Trickflow TFS-51402000, It is their mildest cam, I am using the stock valvesprings and havent had any trouble over the past 8000 miles, The cam has a good idle and has good low & very good midrange power, Plus its cheaper than a comp cam, just my 2C, oh go to www.trickflow.com if you want more specs on that cam. Good luck, Kel[This message has been edited by Kellxr7 (edited 07-11-2003).]
