allright, i got everything hooked up now, intake carb, throttle linkage, the whole 9 yards. However i ran into a snag, when i am sitting in the car and hit the gas (not driving, just idling) it stumbles real bad, like maybe a full second delay until it kicks in and the rpms jump. Would this be a problem with the secondaries coming in too soon, should i just not try to goose it in neutral, or what is my problemThanks for the help again guys/girls

it could be your accelerater pump is not working right. its job is to supply fuel until the fuel/carb can take over.. if its a dp you could have to much fuel..Bruce

It either needs bigger squirters, or a different accelerator pump cams. It has a "hole" in the fuel window that causes the bog.

it is a Holley 670 street avenger on a 74 351W with an rpm air gap and a 1" 4 hole carb spacer

You probably need a bigger accelerator pump shooter, try a 31 or 35.Street Avenger, tuned out of the box...yeah right....

You might try to increase your timing advance a few degrees at a time and see if that helps before blaming it on the carb. If the bog doesn't go away, you might have an early 670 Street Avenger that were found to have an off idle bog problem. If so, you should contact Holley.------------------ 1966 Mustang Coupe: Custom glass hood and BIG scoop sits atop a 289 stroked to 331 c.i., Steel crank and girdle, 5.4 H-beams, Forged slugs, TFS alum. heads, ported Stealth 8020 intake, Xtreme 274 Solid Roller, Holley 750 HP, long tubes, 4speed, 9" 3.50 posi. 11.86 @ 116 mph (7.62 @ 93 mph)full street trim! Wait, wait... this may be something as simple as adjusting the primary accelerator pump. Start the car, open the choke, look into the primaries, tip the throttle rod with your right hand, look for gas to come out of the squirters the INSTANT the throttle is tipped (revved). If no gas comes out, that is your problem (bog, stumble, etc.). Adjust your pump by adjusting the spring loaded nut and bolt.Erik ------------------ 1966 Ford Mustang 2+2 Mine - Restomod in Progress 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe Dad's - Original Unrestored

as soon as i have the slightest pressure on the throttle i get an instant squirt, so it's not that. I pulled the plugs to do a compression check, and the plugs were black with carbon deposits, so it seems that it's rich or the ignition is sucking[This message has been edited by Dubz (edited 07-07-2003).]
