Last weekend I went to the NHRA points meet at Bandimeres. I don't have anything to race yet so I was just a watcher. It turned out that a good friend of mine was there with the Top Alcahol dragster that he is partners with. The driver is Ed Schmeekle if any of you ever notice TAD.

There was a nice Probe running in SS/BM driven by Don Beavers. a really nice car and he is a pleasant person. He told me his engine is a 347 (4.125 bore and 3.25 stroke) he went several rounds before losing. There was an 80 something Cougar running in one of the SS/GT classes and he (Chad Guilford) also went several rounds. In fact I think the Cougar and the Probe both lost the same round. There was also a Fox Mustang that lasted several rounds but I never saw the car between rounds and didn't get the drivers name.

It wasn't the same as competing but it was a lot of fun, the only problem was spending time with my friend I only got to watch most of the race from his pit area. Fortunatly his pit was at the end of the staging lanes so I got to see all the cars drive into staging and could walk over and talk to the drivers if they weren't too busy.

I've got to get a car on the track.

John

My friend lost in the first round on Sunday.

John,

Tell him not to feel bad, 1/2 the people there went home after the first round.

Glad you had a good time!
