Since slicks are listed in different measurements than standard tire measurements, I'm a bit confused. Does anyone know or have experience with how big of a slick can fit a 65-66 without chassis modifications. And what size 15" rim and what backspacing is optimal? Also for a front 'skinny', what size rim, tire, and backspacing is optimal? I am currently looking at using a 27x10.5x15" MT ET Street tire on the rear with a 15x8 telstar with 4.5" backspacing unless someone tells me different. The front rim I'm looking at a 15x4 telstar but what size backspacing and what tire? These are going to be track rims/tires that won't see any highway time but I'd like to keep the rear DOT legal and a little bit of meat on the front for steering in case I take it out on a weekend or something. THANKS!

Welcome to M&M!!

Click on the link below. Brand new pair!! These are the biggest you can fit in a unmodified '65-'66 mustang with a 15x7 or 15x8 wheel. Brand new and price a whole lot cheaper than if you buy them new.

Erik's right about those et streets being the biggest for a stock suspension. For the front, use 26-4.5-15's on a 4" rim.

it's actually not stock my front is pretty low and my rear is pretty high its got a nice lookin rake to it. i run a 26.1" tall rear wheel/tire combo now and theres too much fender gap for me i'd like about a 27 or 28" tire but i'll deal with what i get.
