I am looking for an electric cooling fan that will suppport a 450 horse 351w. I found a perma cool fan that works at 2950 CFM would this be enough to support my engine or do i need a better fan? please let me know thanks

I rember that fordmuscle.com had an article on using a Taurus fan. Considering they are dirt cheap at a boneyard and replacement parts are available at your local parts store, you might want to investigate that route. I've never been impressed with any aftermarket cooling fan, too much money, poor quality, poor performance, poor engineering.

I have also heard that the taurus fan is the one to use. The bone yards are full of them and until they figure out that everybody will eventually be looking for them buy a couple of them now and you are way ahead of the game. JOHN

Understand that a Taurus fan is fairly "thick" when compared to most aftermarket fans, so make sure you know how much room for a fan you can fit between your waterpump pulley and the radiator fins........ Good Luck! Ryan

Also you need to remember the Taurus fan is a power robbing pig (electrically). Most aftermarket fans will use less than 1/3 the mount of current that the factory fan will use. Personally, I like my PermaCool fan. I have owned 3 of them, and have never had any problems with any of them. The first one I bought and used for 7 years is currently on my buddy's car and still works great.

The perma-cool fan should work fine. But, I'll bet the Taurus fan moves more air on high speed and about the same on low speed. On low speed it probably uses about the same amperage too. I could be wrong, but I got two Taurus fans for $10 each. SteveW

I gots an extra tarus fan if you need it. Can't beat the 1/2 off Pick-an-Pull. You will need about 5" of clearance. the shroud could be trimmed some to reduce the higth. I used a fan from a Probe GT it was off set to the left side. The 428 doesn't have a lot of room.------------------ Glen 67 GT 390 65 Galaxie 500 XL 4 Speed It was not a Red Light they gave me a Slow Tree I WAS NOT LATE the Tree was Fast
