Anyone ever swap one of these into a 70-71 Torino?

Anyone have specs on input and pitman shaft sizes? External dimensions or bolt patterns?

Thanks,

Greg

Greg, I've been contemplating this swap for quite a while. I had nothing but problems with my 70's power steering system. I had planned to go manual, but with a 460, 4 speed, and the intentions to make it a cruiser kinda require P/S.

I had a couple 72 Mustangs that I parted out, but the frame rails in the steering box area were just too far gone to be of any use. I'm still looking, and when I find a parts car with a decent rail section, I'm going to save it for the Torino. I think it should work, considering the similarity of the engine compartments. I haven't done any real research on this yet, but the thought is still active....

I kinda wish I had saved my '73 coupe, I junked it with the steering intact 10 years ago.

I did not realize that the frame rails were much different between the two. I guess the steering box is much bigger and wider?

There is a guy on the torino forum named Jim Fouty who was working on an adapter for this swap last year, but I don't know if he's made much headway, as it sounded like he had a lot on his plate at the time.
