I am about to install my Victor Jr. intake and in the instuctions it recommends port matching the intake to the heads. I have Victor Jr. heads and i wanted to know if it is really necessary to do this? Will i lose a significant amount of horsepower if i dont port match the intake to the heads?

please let me know thanks.

Yes it's important,

First make sure the intake gasket is not blocking the ports in the heads, or the ports ib the intake. Then set the intake on and use a flashlight to see how the intake ports line up. Any mismatch caused by milling the heads or block could create obstructions that won't help you.

I would port match the intake to the heads but i dont trust myself to go at a new intake with a grinder. It does not really matter to me if i only lose a few horse power. The heads and block have not been milled and the Victor Jr. Heads and Victor Jr. intake seem to match up pretty well.

What do you think?
