I was wondering what length rods are used when you build a 347 stroker motor. I know you have to buy the 347 crank but I was wondering about the rods. thanks, steven leighty

Steven,That depends on which custom pistons you use. The rods, crank and pistons should be purchased together so they work together. I'm running 6.25" rods but that's a 408 in a 351w block. Do not look for the longest rod possible in a 347, rod ratio isn't as important IMHO as having the piston's pin below the oil ring. SteveW

Most 347 stroker motors will use a 5.4" rod.I believe its CHP that offers a 5.315 rod to prevent the wristpin from entering the oil ring (not an issue, IMHO if you use SRP pistons). ------------------ 2BAV8 Mustang www.geocities.com/2bav8 '66 347 V8 powered Coupe
