Just got a Holley strip dominator intake for my 351C. Any modes anyone would recommend before I put it on the car. My engine build is as follows:


The cam was a solid roller Lunati cam with these spec's:
Lift at valve
.650 In. and .650 Ex.

Duration at .050 Tappet lift
260 In. and 268 Ex.

Advertised Duration
293 In. and 307 Ex.

Valve Adjustment
.026 In. and .026 Ex.

108 Lobe separation

351 4v 1970 closed chamber with a mild clean up flowed these numbers.
INTAKE
.100-70cfm
.200-132.8 cfm
.300-192.6 cfm
.400-242.8 cfm
.500-278.4 cfm
.600-293.0 cfm
.700-301.0 cfm
.800-301.0 cfm

EXHAUST
.100-56.6 cfm
.200-103.6 cfm
.300-143.5 cfm
.400-173.9 cfm
.500-195.3 cfm
.600-203.5 cfm
.700-206.6 cfm
.800-208.5 cfm

Rest of the build is as follows:

1970 351c .20 overbore
2- bolt mains studded with ARP Main stud kit
Blueprinted, balanced
Linehone mains
Index block and Torque Hone block with deck plates
Shotpeen and Resize rods and install ARP bolts
Hone Rods for full floating pins
Drill rods for pin oiling
Static and Spin Balance
Prep Crank
Polish & Chamfer crank

Sounds like a good combo. I used to run that same cam for several years.
My strip dominator has always worked best with at least an inch and a half of spacer on it. I currently have just over two inches of spacer on it and it works real good. You can either run the intake "as cast", or clean it up some. I ported mine. I cleaned up the runners and did some work in the plenum. I also ported my 2" spacer to match the oddball plenum shape. Truthfully, other than the port clean up, I'm not real sure how much any of it helped.

Thanks. I will just put the intake on as cast. I will keep everyone updated how the car does this year. Providing nothing breaks.

Now that I look again, one thing I see about your combo that looks questionable, is the convertor. I know with that camshaft, my car really ran good with a 5500 stall convertor. And now with that intake, it's going to move the powerband up a little higher also.

Good luck with the intake i running one too .i saw some at carsle pa. at the ford show 500.00 i running 1 inch spacer but may try taller one jim1320

jim1320.... Hey I seen that guy selling the strip for $500, do you know if he sold it or did you get his name or anything?? I went back on Sunday looking for him to see if he still had it and he was gone....
