Im using a caltrac setup on a stock wheelbased monoleaf 65 coupe. Right now i have no rollcage and a stock torque box. Are these caltracs gonna rip my stock boxes right out the floor or what? Right now im running a 300 hp small block with a 100 shot of nitrous uncaged. I plan on stepping up the motor and getting a decent cage put in. What should i be concerned with on these torque boxes ? My father had a 10:80 car without any support over the torque box and no cage (its great having friends at the track) and it lasted him 5 years before he sold it. What can i expect out of my stock boxes? and what kind of mods to you guys have on yours if any?
Thanks.

Dynoram,
I also was concerned about my OEM torque boxes on my '69FB. So before I installed my Cal-Tracs, I ask a friend who was very good with a hotwire welder to weld up all the edges of that make up the torque box on both sides. As you know, OEM only has it spot welded and here & there bead welded. I dropped out the front eye of the leaf springs to allow better access to all the angles of the T-boxes. We didn't add any metal. I don't have a cage or rollbar (yet). I do have newer 5-leaf springs with the Cal-Trac aluminum front spring eye insert installed.
I believe Calver Racing recommends Tbox reinforcement as well.

Good Luck!
Ryan
