I threw a set of new plugs in #45 autolites thats what i run for street cruising, and put my slicks on (getting ready for sunday)i took a cruise over to the local cruise night just now and on my way back i made a blast through first and second to see how it runs with the slicks. When i got home i pulled #1 plug out and its all full of carbon which it never did before the spacer.I have only changed squirters since the install and i had the jets where it ran the best before. My question is do you run smaller jets with the spacer?I am waiting for it to cool so i can see what jets are in it i have SML (short memory loss..lol)

I've never used a 4 hole spacer, but it could increase the velocity of air around the discharge nozzles and possibly pull more fuel. It's hard to beleive it's that big of a differance though. Do some hard pulls and coast to a stop the check the plug's threads. You want 1-2 threads of gray color to them. Less means too rich, more is too lean.

The 4-hole spacer can cause a noticable difference on a Victor intake. It not only improves low rpm booster signal but also increases the signal to the PV. A little tuning may be in order. Why did you install the bigger squirters?

It's a case of changing two thinks at the same time and then wondering what happened.

I'd either pull out the spacer or go back to the #28 squirters again, clean up the plugs real good and then take another pass around the block. Then check for carbon on your plugs again...... By making one change at a time then evaluate it, you can determine if the change was for the good or not.

What brand four hole spacer are you using? All those spacers are not created equal with some of them having holes smaller than the throttle plate holes in the carburetor. Also some of the 4 hole spacers out there have a different bore spacing which makes the holes offset to the Holley throttle bore pattern. The Moroso 4 hole has always been a reliable piece.

Fe's are plenty fast, but "Y"'s are fun when they run in the nines.

It is a moroso unit,i had 78 and 83 jets in it prior to spacer, dropped down to 72-78's went back to 31 squirters and made a pass.Big difference so far,it pulled hard again so its loaded on the trailer and im out of here will let you know tonight of the results.Going to make some exhaust passes to see the difference then opening the headers and put in colder plugs.Later Dennis
