I'm looking to upgrade from a stock distributor. If I go with Mallory Unilite or Accell Billetproof or even MSD, what else do I have to change? Do I need to buy an ignition box?

Thanks.

I did the same thing and bought a MSD ready to run pro billet system #8352 for my 289, also got the blaster 2 coil for it #8202. You do not need an ignition box with this set-up. I don,t know if this is what you are looking for or if this meets your requirements, but it is a great system and made all the difference in the world in my car. It really woke it up, took away all the stumbles, bogging and missing.

........forgot to mention in the previous post that all you have to do is take out your old distributor and coil, drop in this one, re-set your timing and you are good to go, nothing else needs to be done unless you want to play with the springs and cams that come with it to adjust your mechanical advance and to set up your curve. Mine was perfect out of the box no adjustments needed.

Thanks John - That's exectly what I was looking for. As soon as I get my engine back together and running, I'll look into one of these.
