Where do you put the clamps? That is, do you put them where all 5 leafs are, then work to the front eye, or do you work from the eye back to the thicker part? Thanks!

I would think from the back (by the housing) forward to the spring eye would be the correct way to install them, if it matters at all.

Well crap. Because of the traction bar mechanism at the front eye, I have to put the clamp back so far that the frame rail hits the clamp. Should I just grind off the edge of the clamp, or just not clamp that far forward?

Grind the clamp. It's worth it.
