Was wondering if they free up horsepower as advertised. If so how much and how much ET can you expect to pick up from one.

Jerry,I can't give you any specifics as other might be able to do, but if I remember correctly, a tenth gain in et would require about another 100hp gain or something like that. [This message has been edited by Tbird (edited 05-22-2003).]

I think you're thinking of 100 pound weight reduction for 1 tenth ET gain. As far as windage trays go, I have heard (HEARD, not seen ) of up to 15 hp on higher-revving engines. But like I said, I have not actually seen the gains w/ my own eyes.

The below excerpt might interest you; quote: With new found enthusiasm we fabricated some oil pans with a plexa-glass window and light inside. This allowed us to actually see what was going on inside the pan during full throttle high r.p.m. dyno pulls. To make a long story short, what we found was 360 degrees of mass chaos. The best way to describe the spinning crank is to imagine a trailer tire with no fender going through a puddle of water, fanning out oil 360 degrees also, it became clear that oil was stacking up under the scraper.
