They ranged from 15 to 17 seconds in the 1/4 mile stock. SteveW

SS67, I had a bone stock '68 Fastback with a 289 two barrel and C-4 auto. It had about 80K miles on it. It ran 16.4 or 16.8 in the 1/4 @ 84mph with street tires and stock single tube exhaust. A same generation coupe should be approx equal. As for A codes, you may have to rely on the guys here. Back in the day, the magazines usually timed only the quickest muscle cars ( big blocks and Shelby's) Take a Shelby GT-350, 15.04 @ 93.07 according to Sept'67 Car & Driver, and that will give you an approx K-code time. Even though the Shelby was rated at 306 HP, it was heavier than a coupe, so it all evens out. The A-code falls somewhere in between. Charlie
